Privacy policy
Short version: the figures you type into the calculator never leave your browser, we don't use cookies, and the only personal data we hold is an email address and two multiple-choice answers, if you choose to give them to us.
Last updated 9 October 2026.
The figures you enter in the calculator
They stay on your device. The entire calculation runs in JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you type — estate values, debts, gifts, family circumstances — is transmitted to us, logged, or stored anywhere. We have no server-side record of it and no technical means of seeing it.
Close the tab and it's gone. Nothing is saved between visits.
If you use the print or save-as-PDF option, that happens entirely on your own device too.
Cookies
We don't set any. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts, no embedded fonts, no CDN requests.
That is why you haven't seen a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.
Analytics
If we add analytics, it will be a cookieless, privacy-preserving service that does not track individuals across sites or collect personal data — Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics. We will update this page before doing so.
If you give us your email address
The only personal data we might hold is what you enter into the Executr early access form or the contact form.
| What we collect | Your email address; the two answers you give on the early access form — a band for roughly what the estate is worth, and which stage of the process you're at; whether you ticked the consent box; whether you offered to help test the first version; which page you signed up from; and the date. Not your IP address, and not your calculator figures |
| Why | To reply to you, to tell you when Executr is available, and to know which estates and which stages the people waiting for it are dealing with, so we build the right thing first |
| Lawful basis | Consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) |
| Retention | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it |
| Where it's held | A database on Cloudflare, in our own account |
| Sharing | With the email platform that sends the messages, once there is one. Never sold, never shared for advertising |
The two answers are bands, not figures. "£300k–£1m" and "Waiting for probate" are what we store, and they are what you chose from a list — we don't record anything you typed about the estate, because the form never asks for it.
Consent is a separate, unticked checkbox. Signing up to hear about the product and asking us a question are different things, and we won't treat one as permission for the other.
If you tell us you'd like to help test the first version, we record that as a separate yes and nothing more. Joining the early access list does not opt you into it, and saying yes to it is not a commitment — you can ignore the email or tell us you've changed your mind.
We do not store the estate figures from the calculator alongside your email address. If a future feature emails you a summary of your result, we'll say so explicitly at the point you ask for it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to withdraw consent at any time, to object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
To exercise any of these, email hello@probatecalculator.co.uk. Every marketing email also carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
Hosting and logs
The site is static and served from a CDN. Like any web server, the host processes technical information — IP address, browser type, requested page — to deliver pages and guard against abuse. These logs are short-lived and are not used to build profiles or identify individuals.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
Any material change will be reflected here with an updated date. If we ever start collecting more than we do today, we will say so plainly rather than expand a definition quietly.
